On the Road Again
The last two weeks were busy, yet wonderful. For the fourth of July, we drove down to Columbus to visit our dear friends, the Bowman's, who have recently moved back to Ohio from NYC. They were nice enough to let us crash for a few days, and we had an absolute blast with their family.
Last Sunday, the whole gang (including Yogi and Coogee) drove up to Uncle Tom's (Heckert) gorgeous house on Mullett Lake in Cheboygan, MI. We spent several days on the lake floating in rafts and jet skiing. We cooked delicious food and took happy hour on the back patio to watch the sunset. On a cool day, we drove to Petoskey for lunch and some shopping, Mackinaw City for some caramel popcorn and fudge, and over the Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula (UP) for views of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan. For those who aren't too familiar with the midwest, here's some quick trivia for you: the Mackinac Bridge is currently the third longest suspension bridge in the world, and the longest in the western hemisphere. The bridge is 5 miles long and offers stunning views of the water, the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan, and Mackinac Island.
