A Big Day

Tomorrow marks the end of 5 weeks of the ACTH steroid injection that we've been giving to Evelyn.  It's been one of the deals that simultaneously feels like it went fast and went on for way too long.  Per usual it seemed it was hardest on Kristen and me; we'd obsess over giving her the shot, trying not to make it hurt and by about the midway point Evie was much more likely to smile and/or laugh as you gave her the shot that cry or fuss.  Grace...literally.

With the conclusion of Evelyn's steroid cycle we have to take her in for a 24 hour EEG to reassess the activity in her brain.  It's our hope that the spasms she suffered from before has been eliminated by the drug.  At the 2.5 week mark we had a quick 22 minute EEG which indicated things were going very well, hopefully the more extensive monitoring confirms this.  Work has me on the road, so as all too often as has been the case over the last 3 months, Kristen will load Evie up and return again to the Cleveland Clinic's main campus tomorrow morning.  If all goes well Evie will be discharged early afternoon Friday w/ good news and be back home for a night snuggle-fest on the couch that evening.

So please continue to send prayers and positive thoughts Evelyn's way over the next 24 hours; I have no doubts that all the love she's received during the first 7 months of her life are a big reason why she's doing so well.  Let's hope and pray she clears a big hurdle tomorrow.
